As a nursing specialist, you support sick or needy people of all ages - whether in a nursing home, hospital or at home. Depending on their personal situation, you help them with personal care, plan nursing measures and implement medical orders. This includes ensuring the correct intake of medication, regularly measuring blood sugar, pulse and blood pressure, or changing dressings.

As a contact person and trusted individual, you always have an open ear for the questions, wishes and concerns of the people you care for and their relatives. You advise them on dealing with their illness, explain the different nursing techniques and how they can be used to provide support. Additionally, you demonstrate the proper use of nursing aids.

Nursing professionals always have the whole person and their entire life situation in mind when it comes to planning and implementing nursing measures and everyday assistance. While you coordinate with therapists and doctors, you work very independently and take on a lot of responsibility.

As a nursing specialist, you are a true all-rounder and are needed wherever sick and dependent people cannot manage on their own. You help them to master everyday tasks as independently as possible and promote their health through preventive measures. Equally important for a good nursing relationship is a respectful attitude towards the people you care for. This includes, above all, giving them the feeling that they can truly trust you.
