    Description

    Our client, a boutique public accounting firm based in San Francisco, is seeking a highly experienced Tax Manager to join our growing team.

    This individual will play a key role in overseeing and managing all aspects of tax compliance for their clients, with a primary focus on individual tax compliance and related entities including trusts (1041), gift taxes (709), estates, private foundations (990-PF), partnerships (1065), and S-Corporations (1120S).

    The ideal candidate will have at least 8 years of experience in tax, specifically within a public accounting firm environment, and hold an active CPA license.

    Growth Opportunity - Lots of opportunity to grow professionally and in responsibility

    Lead and manage a portfolio of ultra high net worth individuals, closely held businesses, and other entities, overseeing all aspects of tax compliance and planning.

    Prepare and review complex individual tax returns (Form 1040), trusts (Form 1041), gift taxes (Form 709), private foundations (Form 990-PF), partnerships (Form 1065), and S-Corporations (1120S), ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.

    Experience with controlled foreign corporation, controlled foreign partnership, foreign disregarded entities, PFIC rules.
    Provide proactive tax planning and advisory services to clients, identifying opportunities for tax optimization and risk mitigation.

    Stay current with changing tax laws and regulations, advising clients on the potential impact of legislative changes on their tax strategies and compliance obligations.

    Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders, including attorneys, financial advisors, and other professionals, to deliver comprehensive tax solutions that meet clients' needs.

    Mentor and supervise junior staff members, providing guidance, training, and feedback to support their professional development and growth.

    Collaborate with firm partners on all management decisions, including revenue management, billing and collections, business development, business management, talent management.

    Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

    Minimum of 8 years of experience in tax, with a focus on individual tax compliance and related entities, gained within a public accounting firm environment.

    Strong technical expertise in tax law and regulations, with a demonstrated ability to analyze complex tax issues and develop innovative solutions.

    Proven leadership and team management abilities, with a track record of effectively mentoring and developing staff.
