    Description

    JOB DESCRIPTION

    This job is an entry-level management role specializing in supporting the day-to-day operations of Room Operations, including Housekeeping, Recreation, Laundry, Staff, AYS, and Concierge/Guest Services. The main focus is on assisting employees with guest arrival and departure procedures and maintaining the property's cleanliness standards to ensure guest and employee satisfaction while meeting the operating budget.

    CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

    • High school diploma or GED; 3 years of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related areas.
    • OR
    • 2-year degree in Hotel and Restaurant Management, Hospitality, Business Administration, or related fields from an accredited university; 1 year of experience in guest services, front desk, housekeeping, or related areas.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    Supporting Room Operations Activities

    • Opening and closing Front Desk and Housekeeping shifts, ensuring completion of checklists.
    • Reviewing critical information in room operations reports.
    • Operating department equipment, ensuring employee supplies and uniforms are sufficient.
    • Understanding and complying with night audit procedures and loss prevention policies.
    • Communicating performance expectations, handling employee questions and concerns, and scheduling employees effectively.

    Managing Budget and Guest Experience

    • Supervising same-day selling procedures and maximizing room revenue.
    • Verifying room rates for revenue optimization and managing controllable expenses within budgeted goals.
    • Using budgets, operating statements, and payroll reports to support Room Operations management.
    • Investigating employee and guest accidents and maintaining a successful guest recognition program.
    • Interacting with guests to obtain feedback, resolve problems, review guest satisfaction results, and set a positive example for guest relations.

    COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    The hourly pay for this position ranges from $26.44 to $30.29. Marriott provides a bonus program, comprehensive health care, 401(k) with company match, stock purchase plan, paid time off, insurance, travel discounts, and various wellness benefits.
