    Description
    North Reading Veterinary Clinic is an established, full-service, small animal hospital located in North Reading, Massachusetts. We see dogs and cats Mondays through Saturdays.

    Our staff provides services such as comprehensive medical care, digital radiography, routine and orthopedic surgical care, dental prophylaxis with radiography, mass removals, ultrasounds, in-house lab work/diagnostics, and more.

    Our goal is to practice the highest quality medicine and surgery with compassion and an emphasis on client education.

    Located off the Ipswich River, just outside of Boston, North Reading, Massachusetts has a lot to offer visitors and residents alike.

    Ipswich River Park is a stunning 49-acre site including a conservation area, restored wetlands, walking paths, sports fields and courts, playgrounds, and more.

    The city is known for being one of the best places to live in Massachusetts and has highly rated schools.

    Our proximity to Boston allows residents to enjoy everything new and old, including historical landmarks, fine dining, theatres, breweries and more.

    Outdoor enthusiasts enjoy whale watching, boating, fishing, hiking and more Animal restraint, triage of incoming patients, collection and analysis of lab samples, diagnostic imaging, management and nursing care of medical and hospitalized cases with varying degrees of stability, administration of medications, effective communication of treatment plans with clients, surgical preparation and assistance, and anesthetic management.

    May be exposed to bites, scratches, animal waste and potentially contagious diseases.

    Some weekend availability- hours are shortened on weekends
    Interpret medical records and record client history accurately
    Knowledge in preventative care, surgical procedures, and hospital flow
    Proficient in sample collection to include blood samples, urine, fecal, and skin
    Proficient in anesthesia and surgical monitoring
    Ability to receive in a professional manner constructive feedback to maintain hospital efficiency

    Note – some benefits may only be available to or vary slightly for full time employment status vs part time status.

    Ability to sit or stand and work at a computer for long periods of time

    Ability to be confident around animals (i.e., Must have mental capacity and processes for reasoning, remembering, mathematics and language ability (reading, writing, and speaking the English language) to perform the duties proficiently.

    Job requires sufficient ambulatory skills in order to perform required duties while working.

    Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm-hand-finger dexterity with the ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard and operate other equipment as required.

    Hospital teammates are routinely exposed to a variety of animals that may bite, kick or scratch, and on occasion, may be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological or zoonotic hazards and/or medication/controlled substances.
