    Description
    JOB SUMMARY:

    Responsible for collecting on assigned accounts, maintaining good customer relations with borrowers and effectively solving problems to resolve account delinquency and prevent losses.

    The following overview provides potential candidates with a better understanding of the qualifications needed for this position.


    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:


    Establish communication with customers via phone and email to identify reasons for delinquency and determine steps to bring the account up to date.

    Build rapport with customers to grasp changes in their circumstances.

    This includes follow-up communication, ensuring promised payment dates are met, and adhering to all required written notices under the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act.

    Prevent potential losses and boost profitability through negotiation and enforcement of planned collection strategies.

    Negotiate account resolutions, accurately record actions in the collection systems, while meeting company performance and productivity benchmarks.

    Assess, process, and validate accounts and their balances.

    Make decisions regarding the most suitable course of action for loans, including payment schedules, workout agreements, and recovery plans following company policies and procedures.

    Conduct investigative tasks to locate customers through database searches and system records (skip tracing).
    Execute all collection activities in compliance with company guidelines.

    Portray the company in a professional and engaging manner by delivering exceptional customer service, upholding the mission statement, and embracing core values in all job functions and customer interactions.

    Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in designated company systems, including customer contact details.
    Maintain the specified minimum monthly Quality Assurance rating.


    OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
    Must be willing to work extra hours when necessary.
    Must be open to a flexible work schedule.
    Must be available to work on weekends.


    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    To excel in this role, candidates must proficiently carry out each essential duty. The following requirements represent the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary.

    High School Diploma or Equivalent
    One (1) year of experience in collections
    Proficiency in managing emails, MS Office Suite (Word, Excel)
    Basic understanding of FDCPA, UDAAP, TCPA, FCRA, and CFPB regulations
    Strong verbal and written communication skills
    Ability to employ sound business math skills

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    During job duties, the employee is regularly expected to stand, walk, reach, and sit for a minimum of 8 hours with or without reasonable accommodation.

    The employee must use hands to handle objects and tools.

    Additionally, the employee is required to listen or speak with or without reasonable accommodation and occasionally lift and move up to 10 pounds.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    While carrying out tasks, the employee is frequently exposed to moderate noises like those from computers, printers, and other office equipment in an office environment.

    This position is primarily office-based.

    Remote work may be conducted from a pre-approved location, as scheduled and arranged by team management and approved by department leadership.
