    ABOUT THE ROLE

As an Engineering Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in our diverse team consisting of scientists, engineers, and technicians. Your main responsibilities will include offering technical and program management assistance to drive the success of our projects. You will collaborate closely with engineering and program leaders to oversee and speed up critical project procurements, enhance processes continuously, manage capital projects, and document property management and processes compliant with government standards. Moreover, you will play a part in creating standard operating procedures and training for the Autonomous Systems & AI (AAI) division and potentially for other Advanced and Applied Technology (AAT) sectors as necessary.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Offer project engineering administrative support for AAI research and development projects, which involves tasks such as coordinating Program Management Reviews (PMRs), meeting reports, NDAs, shipping, and ensuring building access.
    • Collaborate closely with government compliance and government asset management to maintain adherence to regulations in government-funded programs and provide training to team members.
    • Supervise the prioritization and execution of AAI capital projects, including approving budget items in the Capital Planning System, managing procurements, closing projects, and overseeing asset management.
    • Manage and monitor a substantial and constantly changing queue of procurement requests from project engineers and team members, effectively managing expectations to meet project timelines.
    • Support the onboarding and training of new team members and hires on procurement processes, government compliance and asset management, and the capital process.

    U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS

Due to compliance with U.S. export control regulations, applicants must fulfill U.S. Person criteria, which includes being a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or possessing protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status, or having the ability to obtain an export authorization.

    YOU MUST HAVE

    • Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution in a technical field such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
    • Over 2 years of experience in managing procurement processes with a dedication to ongoing process enhancement for expediting a wide array of projects.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making capabilities.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    WE VALUE

    • Exposure to technology development projects and comprehension of project engineering and program management administrative requirements.
    • Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to collaborate effectively with team members in a project or team environment spanning multiple time zones.
    • Individuals who are self-driven and capable of working independently with minimal supervision, consistently taking the initiative to complete tasks proactively, even before being prompted by others or by circumstances.
    • Experience in formulating and documenting standard operating procedures.
