- Responsible for the design of schematic/environmental/PS&E projects for WA DOT and other municipal/county clients.
- Direct and/or perform engineering calculations from preliminary to final design.
- Develop and lead design of plans, specifications, reports, and cost estimates.
- Assist in proposal, scope of work, and fee schedule preparation.
- Clearly communicate work and ideas through drawings, documents, reports, and verbal exchange.
- Follow design standards to layout proposed improvements in MicroStation and coordinate design with design team members.
- Coordinate with project staff, other disciplines and sub-consultants, Departments, and reviewers to ensure accuracy and quality of work.
- Maintain project documentation.
- Schedule work for team members to deliver project tasks on time and on budget.
- Assist in the training, supervision, development, and evaluation of engineering support staff.
- Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering or other related engineering BS.
- 4+ years of design experience on transportation schematic and design projects. Experience in WA DOT design is a plus.
- REMOTE for anyone in WA, OR, Northern CA, ID
- PE or PM experience working on WA DOT projects is highly desirable but not required
- Ability to communicate effectively (verbal and written).
- Demonstrated interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to mentor engineers and technicians.
- Demonstrated experience using Civil 3D, MicroStation InRoads or OpenRoads required
