- Develop new business with new and existing customers
- Set up meetings between client decision makers and company's leaders
- Plan approaches and pitches.
- Work with the team to develop proposals that speak to the client's needs, concerns, and objectives.
- Handle objections by clarifying agreements and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
- Use a variety of styles to persuade or negotiate appropriately.
- Attend industry functions and stay informed on market trends.
- Identify potential clients and turn this into increased business.
- Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
- Ensure that data is accurately entered and managed within the company's sales management system.
- Understand the company's goal and purpose so that will continue to enhance the company's performance.
- Commitment to increasing job knowledge and expanding personal capacity by participating in continuing education related to the field of expertise and in training to maintain a thorough knowledge of BGT's products and services. Remains current on industry trends and developments.
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent, experience may be considered in lieu of education
- At least five (5) years of experience in construction business development preferred
- Experience in the multi-family construction industry preferred
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, follow through, and manage a demanding workload involving multiple tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines
- Must be self-motivated and capable of working with minimal supervision
- Self-starter with flexibility, desire to learn, willing to ask questions, and take ownership of projects

BGT's Account Manager develops relationships with clients seeking internal finishes within the multifamily construction industry. This position will be responsible for identifying potential new clients or projects using varying means of generating interest such as planning persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince clients to do business with the company. The Account Manager will develop a rapport with new and existing clients and hit targets for sales. He/she will provide support that will continually improve the relationship. This position will be required to grow and retain existing "in-house" accounts by presenting new products and solutions to clients.
