- Master's degree from an accredited college/university in a human service discipline (social work, psychology, or related human services field).
- Active NJ licensure - Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC), Licensed Associate Marriage & Family Therapist (LAMFT) or Licensed Social Worker (LSW.)
- One year supervisory experience.
- Two years experience in mental health/behavioral health.
- Knowledge of community resources and agencies.
- Valid automobile driver's license with MVR which meets agency standards.

Job DescriptionDynamic Opportunity~ As a full-time supervisor, working 40 hours per week, the Assistant Director for the Community Support Services Program supports Director and CSS employees in providing services to individuals whom have a mental illness and are residing in the community with assistance to maintain community tenure and secured housing. The program provides psychiatric rehabilitation and support services to foster self sufficiency, increased independence and community integration.
The Guidance Center~ is a primary mental health support agency, providing compassionate, professional care for individuals and families with mental health needs in the greater Cumberland County, NJ area. For more than 60 years, our non-profit organization of professionals, doctors, nurses, therapists, and support staff, has assisted the community in the diagnosis and treatment of all types of mental illness.
What does this position look like~ The Assistant Director of CSS engages in advocacy and coordinate service linkages. Assists individuals to develop healthy social and daily living skills. Completes documentation of services. Facilitates administrative processes for representative payee funds. Provides crisis intervention and support crisis de-escalation. Assists the CSS Director in providing programmatic oversight including adherence to regulations, quality improvement processes, administrative tasks and in field supervision and training of employees.
