The Opportunity

Reporting to the Director of Strategy and Financial Planning, you will provide timely analysis and deliverables in conjunction with Par Pacific's forecasting and business planning process.

More specifically, your key responsibilities will be to:

• Assist in organizing and facilitating the monthly forecasting process and annual budget process
• Maintain and publish financial forecasting models for Par Pacific and its subsidiaries
• Analyze and communicate Par Pacific financial results & forecasts to executives and senior management
• Create PowerPoint presentations outlining financial results and forecasts to be presented to management, the Board of Directors and the public market
• Provide analytical support to various business initiatives & strategic decisions, including business development & M&A opportunities
• Perform weekly ad hoc financial analysis on behalf of executives and senior management

The Role

• Senior FP&A Analyst Role at a Growth -Oriented Downstream Energy Company
• The role is responsible for detailed financial analysis of Par Pacific, its subsidiaries, and M&A / business development opportunities
• If you possess excellent financial modeling and communication skills, and have 2-5 years of experience in corporate finance, banking, consulting, or the Big 4, the role of Senior FP&A Analyst with Par Pacific offers compelling opportunities:
  • Unique visibility and access to executives and senior management. You will have weekly interactions with executives and senior management on forecasting and business planning activities
  • Interact with cross functional groups and participate in developing forecasts, budget, and other financial modeling that will help drive business decisions
  • Analyze and summarize M&A and business development initiatives and provide input on strategic decisions of the company
  • Hands-on training and mentoring from Par Pacific's Strategy & Financial Planning team

The Qualifications

To meet the basic qualification for this role, you will have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. To be a good fit for the Senior FP&A Analyst opportunity, you will have:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics or equivalent required. CPA or advanced degree a plus.
• 2-5 years of related work experience in a financial modeling environment, including but not limited to banking, corporate finance, consulting or Big 4 advisory or accounting
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
• Highly literate in fundamental finance and accounting concepts
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
• Team player, flexible, and willing to pitch in wherever required in a small team environment
• Professionalism and comfort working with and/or presenting to executive leadership
• You should be flexible to complete work during and beyond normal office hours as required by the job
• This role is based at Par Pacific's headquarters in Houston
