Position Summary

The job of General Maintenance technician was established for the purpose/s of providing maintenance services as needed and/or assigned; assisting in a wide variety of maintenance activities; addressing immediate operational and/or safety concerns; assisting skilled trades; and ensuring that tools, materials and vehicles are maintained in good working order and are available at job site when needed.

Responsibilities

Perform assigned general maintenance duties required to maintain and repair buildings, structures, machinery and equipment, involving variety of general and semiskilled maintenance activities (e.g. HVAC PM, carpentry, plumbing painting, electrical, etc.) for the purpose of data center maintenance within established time frames.
Responds to emergency situations during and after hours for the purpose of resolving immediate maintenance and safety concerns.
Make emergency repairs with area of knowledge and responsibility.
Refer work requiring more specialized or skilled trades to Operations Management and followup to completion.
Inspect machinery in operation to assure proper functioning, including checking pressures and temperatures as required.
Maintain and upkeep of all mechanical systems. Add chemicals daily or as needed by water testing. Inspect all pumps and clean from debris. Assist Electrician with various tasks.
Attend special training classes and sessions to increase skill in various trades.
Transports a variety of tools, equipment and supplies for the purpose of ensuring the availability of materials required at job site.
Assure that jobs specified on maintenance requests and work orders are completed satisfactorily.
Maintain required records of hours/materials expended for each job.
Perform other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work establishment

Position Requirements

Sufficient strength and physical dexterity to perform duties and responsibilities of the job, including heavy work with exposure to inclement weather for prolonged periods of time.
Must be able to wear and use appropriate personal protective equipment as necessary
Willingness to learn new skills and methods.
Working knowledge of maintenance trades.

Pay:
$ $32.00 per hour
