Search Solution Group is eager to appoint a Manufacturing Engineer for our client in Wadesboro, NC, a global leader in intelligent motion solutions.
This role is vital for overseeing continuous improvement initiatives, enhancing plant operations, and maintaining compliance with engineering specifications.The Manufacturing Engineer is central to the development and refinement of manufacturing processes and tools, directly impacting the efficiency and quality of production.
Key Responsibilities:
Promote and enforce safety standards throughout the facility. Program, edit, and maintain CNC lathes and mills. Utilize MRP software to support production schedules through accurate routings and time studies. Employ SolidWorks & PDM for modeling and drafting. Lead projects focused on design, development, and continuous improvement. Collaborate with manufacturing technicians to enhance tooling and equipment. Provide technical expertise to manufacturing departments. Support capital investment plans with innovative design solutions for work cells and equipment. Analyze production orders and schedules to optimize department operations. Perform regular inspections to ensure machines and equipment meet operational standards. Oversee daily operations of the Manufacturing Engineering Department. Implement and refine manufacturing methodologies like Lean Manufacturing and SMED. Maintain and update plant layout designs. Liaise with maintenance to prioritize safety-related issues. Prepare and justify capital expenditure requests. Provide cost analysis and tooling quotes for new and modified products.
Requirements Include:
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering preferred; Associate degree with 3+ years of experience or 7+ years in a manufacturing engineering role may be considered
Experience:
Proven experience in CNC machining, programming, and fixture design; experience with 5-axis machining and automation is highly desirable
Skills:
Proficient in ERP and MRP software, particularly AS/400; strong capabilities in SolidWorks & PDM
Certifications:
Not required, but relevant certifications in Lean Manufacturing or CNC programming are advantageous
Knowledge:
Solid understanding of non-destructive inspection techniques and basic statistics
Key Competencies:
Expertise in root cause analysis, preventive action methods, and continuous improvement processes; strong analytical skills and ability to communicate technical information effectively
Additional Information:
This position is based in Wadesboro, NC. The role may require occasional travel for professional development or project implementation.
