    The MRI Patient Coordinator is a friendly and helpful team member that guides the patient through every step of the journey to completing an MRI at TOA.

    From scheduling, to check in, and assisting the MRI technologist during the scan, this steward provides an excellent patient experience from start to finish.


    • Demonstrate exceptional customer service and patient focus to make each encounter as positive as possible.
    • Work closely with MRI Technologists and administrative teammates to develop a cohesive, high performing team.
    • Obtains MRI order from clinic and contacts patient via phone or MedChat to schedule MRI scan and follow up
    • Uses fax and Order Facilitator to communicate with outside facilities in the event a patient is not scanned at a TOC MRI location
    • Prep MRI department for upcoming appointments and print related documents
    • Collect copayments, coinsurances, deductibles, and balances
    • Create an encounter for MRI scan and print
    • Provide the patient with paperwork regarding MRI safety questions and ensure pertinent information is obtained
    • Ensure that all documentation is scanned, and information is entered accurately and swiftly
    • Utilize Excel to balance end of day collections
    • Complete reminder calls and texts to MRI patients scheduled for future scans
    • Verify future scheduled patients have insurance approval prior to arrival
    • Checks patient identification and physician order to ensure accuracy before proceeding with study
    • Verifies patient medical history regarding surgeries, implants or Pacemakers and communicates with patient to ensure patient understands study and is as comfortable as possible
    • Ensures patient is prepared for the MRI scan room by reviewing safety questions and dress code
    • Preps the scan room with appropriate coil placement and patient positioning, ensuring the patient has hearing protection and call bell
    Requirements

    Technology:
    Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office programs such as Excel, Word, and Outlook. Demonstrated proficiency with EHR is helpful, and NextGen preferred.


    Attendance/Punctuality:
    Consistently arrives to work on time.


    Experience:
    Previous successful experience in a healthcare clinic/office environment or customer service role preferred, but not required


    Education:
    High School Diploma required
