    Job Type Full-timeDescriptionUniversity Physicians Association is looking for a full-time Patient Care Coordinator at NEUROINTERVENTIONAL RADIOLOGY, a practice within the UT Medical Center campus in Knoxville, TN

    RESPONSIBLE AND ACCOUNTABLE FOR:


    Communicate effectively with the staff and patientsCoordination and processing of patient referrals to specialty services and maintain ongoing tracking of referralsMonitor scheduled procedures and maintain organized list with status of pre-certification process.

    Greet patients in friendly and timely manner.
    Scheduling of Interventional Radiology appointments, follow up care, and radiology testing.

    Precertification of procedures as determined by insuranceScheduling radiology procedures with central scheduling departmentScheduling procedures with OR scheduling departmentKnowledge of specific insurance requirementsComplete information in the computer under the appropriate physician's scheduleCompleting tasks timely, completely and correctlyDocuments all information completely and thoroughly in patient's chartThis position requires the employee to make every effort to remain a flexible, cooperative and supportive member of the staff; act as a liaison between the provider and the patient; and maintain friendly open lines of communication between the office and the outpatient/inpatient centers.

    Performs all duties in an independent manner with minimal direction and supervisionRecognizes and performs duties which need to be performed, although not directly assignedDUTIES AND TASKS INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
    Keeps all patient information, practice information and staff information confidentialPerforms routine work under general supervisionFollows established procedures, referring all new or unusual questions/concernsActs as patient advocate, ensuring a setting that protects the rights of the patient and provides an atmosphere that does not compromise the patient's physical or mental well-being, safety or dignityMaintains knowledge of, and complies with, established policies and procedures Full benefit package available, including PTO, Sick Leave, Medical, Dental, Vision, 401k with company match and immediate vesting, Critical Illness, Life Insurance, EAP, and more Requirements Minimum of three (3) years previous office experience including scheduling and precerting in an EHRGood reading comprehension and ability to clearly communicate with patients and other facilitiesAble to deal compassionately, professionally, and courteously with patients, their families, physicians and fellow staff
