The Process Safety Engineer, with a chemical and engineering focus, is a key leadership role within the Energy and Sustainability Solutions organization.
HSE Manager but work closely with the site maintenance and engineering teams to develop and steer a robust practice of mechanical integrity including, Inspection, Testing, and Preventative Maintenance (ITPM) procedures.
You will be the key HSE resource at the facility to support the site engineering and operations team directing Process Safety Management (PSM) programs through incorporation of impactful operating processes and keeping in front of leading practices in appropriate standards.
Key HSE Responsibilities:
Provide program development, drive, and implementation of the Process Safety Management (PSM) system.
Maintain metrics related to PSM and HSE including but not limited to; on-time action completion, compliance action completion, incident investigations, program maturity improvement, energy reduction, etc.
Provides technical assistance to engineering, operations, and maintenance for compliance with PSM elements.
Job Site compliance reviews for permit compliance and standard verifications including hot work, confined space, lock tag try, and others as needed.
Prepares and submits required Regulatory Agency reports.
Conducts or arranges exposure monitoring including sampling and analyses in accordance with accepted methods.
Effective coach and role model for production leaders; leads PSM initiatives, Best Practice sharing among location groups and other similar manufacturing locations.
Capital expense projects; lead, liaison, and support projects throughout the preparation and funding steps.
YOU MUST HAVE
4+ years' experience in HSE and Process Safety Management.
WE VALUE
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Sciences, Engineering or related fields.
Chemical processing background.
Lean/Six Sigma Greenbelt certified or willing to become certified in first 12 months.
Process Safety Management experience.
Knowledge of Dangerous Goods, First Aid practices, environmental and industrial hygiene practices.
Experience participating in audits and implementing HSE management systems.
