Position Summary
SGS & Co is seeking a Financial Analyst to join the Corporate Treasury team, reporting to the Treasury Manager. The Corporate Treasury team is responsible for US and Canada daily cash management as well as global cash forecasting. The Corporate Treasury team is located at our corporate headquarters in Louisville, KY. SGS & Co also has a finance team in Chicago, IL.
This role may be hybrid (2 days per week) in either Louisville, KY, Chicago, IL, or be remote within the Central or Eastern time zones.
This position will assist our global sales teams with pricing and financial modeling for opportunities, as well as reporting and the analysis and presentation of data to help the company make well informed, fact-based decisions.
This role will interact with a cross-functional global team.The ideal candidate will display effective planning and organizational skills, be results oriented, and possess the ability to competently manage multiple priorities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (can perform complex functions) and knowledge of both Finance and Accounting principles required.Location:
Louisville, KY, Chicago, IL, or Remote (Central or Eastern Time zone)
Essential Responsibilities, Accountabilities & Results
Partner with Procurement and Accounts Payable to oversee the successful completion of daily payment transactions while ensuring compliance with all state/federal regulations and SGS policies.
Initiate / verify wire and ACH transfers for various expenditures.Analyze daily cash balances for cash availability and make appropriate cash transfers as necessary.
Maintain daily cash flow forecasts.
Maintain and enhance the global 13 week cash flow forecast. Analyze inputs from decentralized finance staff, determine drivers of cash activity. Develop variance analysis and accuracy metrics.
Work with Financial Planning and Analysis Department to align assumptions in the annual budget to the global 13 week cash flow forecast.
Analyze differences to develop bridges between the two forecasts.Maintain effective working relationships with various teams including Finance, Commercial, Legal, and Operations
Provide input on ongoing projects, perform ad hoc analyses, and support special projects as necessary and directed by senior management
Competency Requirements
Highly proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, Pivot Tables, etc.) and PowerPoint
Possesses an inquisitive mindset; Strong ability to dig into details and work with limited data
Solid understanding of basic financial principles and practices
Self-motivated and resourceful; Ability to digest ambiguous asks and translate them into an actionable plan
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to convey information concisely in writing and verbally to all levels of employees and senior management
Effectively manages tasks and tight deadlines independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated ability to define problems, collect data from multiple sources, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues of diverse backgrounds and cultures
Educational & Experience Minimum Requirements
This position requires the following knowledge and skills:
BS in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or Business
1-3 years of relevant work experience in Treasury.
