- Conduct site investigations to collect data about client systems, equipment, and instruments for developing SCADA system architecture options and outlining upgrade paths for each option with cost estimates;
- Assist Project Manager in drafting proposals and communicating with clients;
- Provide guidance and training to junior staff;
- Cultivate and manage relationships with key clients;
- Coordinate and oversee subcontractors and vendors;
- Create process logic for programmable logic controllers (PLCs) utilized in monitoring and controlling water and wastewater treatment systems;
- Design graphical interfaces representing process equipment and instrumentation in HMI software packages used by clients;
- Develop graphical interfaces for operator interface terminals (OITs) in SCADA systems;
- Utilize specialized software to generate automated reports containing process data for regulatory and client monitoring purposes;
- Supervise contractors in wiring terminations, equipment modifications, and instrument wiring related to SCADA systems;
- Collaborate with Project Managers and Senior Engineers in preparing documents and presentations with minimal supervision;
- Calibrate and configure instruments, including level, pressure, flow, temperature, and more, and their connections to SCADA systems;
- Configure and commission SCADA computers and industrial networking hardware;
- Engage in testing and startup procedures to ensure SCADA systems effectively monitor and control equipment;
- Train operations staff on SCADA system usage, maintenance, and troubleshooting;
- Conduct QA/QC checks for design team deliverables and controls team code.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering;
- 5 years of experience in system integration;
- Familiarity with Allen-Bradley and/or Modicon PLCs;
- Experience in Water/Wastewater systems.

The Role:
Oversee automation and control projects from initiation through completion. You will have a team of technical managers, engineers, and operations staff to assist you in executing top-notch projects within set scope, schedule, and budget parameters. Alongside collaborating with an internal team, you will regularly engage with clients to keep them updated on project progress, serving as a valued advisor to identify and strategize new projects that will enhance their operations. The ideal candidate will frequently travel to job sites (typically nearby) to supervise startups, conduct preconstruction activities, lead kickoff meetings, and consult with clients regarding project statuses and new initiatives.
This position offers remote work, but candidates must be located in CA - Travel: 50% within northern California and nationwide. Travel mainly involves day trips with occasional air travel and overnight stays.
