    Clinical Nurse Coordinator

    We are seeking a motivated and organized Clinical Nurse Coordinator to join our team at UNM Hospitals As a Clinical Nurse Coordinator, you will be responsible for assigning nurses and technicians to patients, ensuring adequate staffing levels, and providing clinical leadership for nursing staff. You will also supervise staff and patient care delivery on designated shifts, as well as serve as a clinical resource for staff. Our ideal candidate has at least two years of directly related experience and is a nationally accredited nursing graduate with a current RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM. The ability to lift and move heavy objects or people is required.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assign nursing personnel and staff to specific patients using independent judgment
    • Supervise and direct staff providing patient care
    • Monitor compliance with specific objectives and ensure implementation of and compliance with standards, objectives, and operating policies and procedures
    • Act as a liaison between physicians, staff, patients, families, and other departments to promote and facilitate communication, problem solving, decision-making, crisis intervention, resource utilization, and conflict management
    • Delegate and monitor completion of duties according to departmental and Hospitals policies
    • Deliver safe direct care to an assigned group of patients as required
    • Work in collaboration with the healthcare team, implement and document individualized care plans incorporating age-specific considerations, including discharge planning and patient/family teaching
    • Follow patient safety-related policies, procedures, and protocols
    • Encourage patients to actively participate in their own care by asking questions and reporting treatment or situations that they don't understand or may 'not seem right'

    Qualifications:

    • Program Graduate with Bachelor's Degree in Nursing
    • Nationally accredited nursing graduate and a current RN license in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM
    • At least two years of directly related experience
    • Nationally Certified in area of specialty (preferred)
    • The ability to lift and move heavy objects or people (required)
