Description

Summary

This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Certain Competitive Service Positions to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.

About the Position: The incumbent will serve as an Architect (Historic) for the Directorate of Public Works (DPW) in Fort Riley, KS.

Duties

Participate in all phases of project design and construction applying appropriate historic preservation laws and regulations.
Participate in meetings with project managers, contractors, and proponents to assure adherence to appropriate historic preservation laws and regulations.
Review projects deliverables from government employees and contractors for meeting professional standards and contractual obligations.
Conduct consultation with the State Historic Preservation Officer, Tribal Representatives, and the Advisory Council on Historic Preservation representing Fort Riley's interests.
Brief various levels of command, state and federal personal and other stakeholders.
Serve as the designated Cultural Resources Manager.
Develop and implement the Fort Riley Integrated Cultural Resources Management Plan.
Evaluate programs and projects to assure compliance with all environmental, energy use, safety, and security standards.
Keep abreast of state and Federal historic preservation laws and regulations and interpret their implications on construction projects and military training.
Negotiate, develop, and implement agreement documents associated with historic preservation compliance.
Apply the Secretary of Interiors standards and guidelines for the treatment of historic properties.
Provide training for government personnel and contractors involved in all aspects of the management of historic properties.
Provide timely response to all taskings from various levels of command and complete all annual reports as required.
