Software Engineering Senior Advisor (Staff Engineer)
Must be a current contractor with Cigna Healthcare, Evernorth Health Services, or one
of their subsidiaries.
We are looking for developers who really enjoy writing code to help us design and build
large-scale applications. The position requires hands-on development of service-based
scalable applications. Our team is extremely collaborative. Interested candidates must
love to write code, be self-motivated, willing to learn, and willing to share new ideas to
improve our team and processes.

• Candidates will need to have experience with medium-to-large-scale web
development.

• Ability to develop within "full" technology stack (backend, frontend).

• Be part of a fast-moving team, working with the latest tools and open source
technologies

• Design and develop our next generation of RESTful APIs and Event driven
services in a distributed environment.

• Use advanced, distributed technologies to process, store, and quickly retrieve
huge volumes of data.

• Work on a development team using agile methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:

• Design & implement cloud infrastructure solutions for distributed systems and
applications.

• Design & implement automation pipelines for deployment into Cloud Platform.

• Design & architect cloud migration or cloud native solutions.

• Design & hardening of virtual networks, firewalls, load balancers, and virtual
machines.

• Design & perform analysis of best practices and emerging concepts in Cloud,
DevOps, Infrastructure Automation, and Network Security.

• Design & Drive creation of reference architectures to continuously improve the
quality and consistency of cloud infrastructure solutions.

• In-depth knowledge in Terraform - Infrastructure as Code (IAC) design, develop, test
and deployment with Terraform being essential for all Engineering peers

• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Helm and EKS

• Storage: IAM, SDN (VPC and XPN)

• Networking: VPCs, ingress, egress and core firewall concepts

• CI/CD: Jenkins, Git, Maven

• Application Programming/Scripting: at least one of Bash, Java, Groovy or Python

• Configuration management: Terraform, Puppet, Chef or Ansible.

• A track record of delivering medium to large multiple cloud projects

• You will be able to talk about the approach, the structure, the pitfalls as well as
being able to compare between the cloud products and your reasons for the
decision which you have made.

• Hands on with designing and implementing cloud native solutions with the
emphasis on Network, Identify and Access Management, Programmable
infrastructure, Event logging, Resource Monitoring and Secret Management.

• Appetite for learning new technologies.
Requirements:

• - Must have High School Diploma or equivalent

• - Must be a current contractor with Cigna Healthcare, Evernorth Health Services,
or one of their subsidiaries.

• - 5 plus years full stack development experience strongly preferred

• - Experience with scripting language such as JavaScript.

• - Experience with React (preferred), Angular 2+.

• - Web application development experience with compiled languages such as
Java (preferred), C#, or Go

• - Solid understanding of OOP, Design Patterns, Data Structures and Web
Standards

• - Solid understanding of JavaScript, HTML and CSS

• - Strong understanding of parallel processing, concurrency and asynchronous
concepts

• - Experience with developing RESTful web services

• - Experience with Linux

• - Strong experience with enterprise level N-tier web applications

• - Experience in writing native SQL queries

• - Relational Database - experience using Oracle, MySQL/MariaDB, Postgres, or
SQLServer

• - NoSql Database - DynamoDb, MongoDB, Cassandra

• - Caching - Redis, Memcached

• - Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, OpenShift, Google App Engine, or
Heroku)
Nice-to-haves

• - Experience in architecting and designing distributed systems that are highly
available and security focused

• - Experience with designing event-based systems

• - Experience in SSO (SAML, OPENID)

• - Understanding Queue/Messaging services- JMS, Amazon SQS, etc.

• - Experience with single-page applications
