    We are currently seeking a VP, Data and Analytics to join our team and lead a global enterprise team responsible for driving and supporting Sysco's strategic data agenda.

    The VP will play a foundational role in leading data strategy, executing and maintaining data platforms, overseeing data governance, and identifying opportunities to monetize data.

    With a focus on innovation and value creation, the VP will drive the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and generative AI (GenAI) strategies, build cross-functional partnerships, and create high-performing teams.


    • Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Leadership and Team Management: Recruit, retain and develop talent, set clear goals and objectives, and manage resource plans and budgets.
    • Data Strategy: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap, identify opportunities for leveraging data, and stay abreast of industry trends.
    • Data Governance: Co-lead a data governance program, oversee the Data Steward program, and drive risk mitigation strategies.
    • Data Platforms, Engineering, and Architecture: Consolidate and modernize data platforms, deliver new capabilities, and participate in key projects.
    • Automation, Data Science, Machine Learning, AI, and GenAI: Align technologies with use cases, create and scale solutions, and work with business stakeholders to deliver AI solutions.
    • Reporting, Analytics, Visualization, and Business Intelligence: Drive the discovery and optimization of dashboards, transition to predictive and prescriptive data, and embrace federated models.
    • Innovation: Incubate ideas, track industry trends, and work with peers to understand data and AI strategies.

    Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in an analytical field or relevant degree with industry experience

    Education Preferred: MBA or another advanced degree (highly preferred)

    Experience and Attributes Required:
    • Proven experience in data and analytics roles, transformational leadership, and organizational change management
    • Strong leadership skills, proven results orientation, and experience in creating strategies and negotiating contracts
    • Team-oriented, action-oriented, and strong problem-solving skills

    Experience Preferred:
    • 5+ years of leading teams, experience in VP or Chief Data Officer roles, and expertise in AI architectures
    • Deployment of AI solutions, automation, and proficiency in statistical packages and software languages
    • Understanding of databases, cloud technologies, and broader technology topics

    Licenses/Certifications Preferred:
    • Six Sigma, Lean, or Kaizen methodologies, Data Analytics, Project Management, Data Science

    Work Environment: Houston, TX based – Sysco Global Headquarters. Hybrid – (3 days in office, 2 days remote)
