Description
Our leading healthcare organization is seeking a Medical Call Center Representative at our facility in Farmington, CT. Ideal candidates will possess medical office experience and a competitive desire to provide white glove treatment to our patients. Our Call Center Representatives assist patients on the phone, helping them to resolve their Self-Pay balances by establishing payment plans, updating insurance coverage, and providing customer support as a member of our business office.
Summary of Duties:
• Serves as a liaison between the general calling public and all clinical faculty, professionals, and staff. Ensures that all consumer requests are satisfied.
• With the aid of a computerized database and other resource materials, responds to all calls from the general public and the employee base, requesting information about Health services and physicians.
• Collects and inputs demographic information on all new callers and updates demographic information, as appropriate, on repeat callers.
• Schedules appointments for callers with appropriate physicians and services and encourages appropriate use of Health resources and services.
• Provide callers with letter confirming appointment, directions and any other relevant information.
• Records all appropriate information either directly into the computer or manually, if necessary. If the call is recorded manually, the representative enters it into the computer system before the end of the shift that same day.
• Assists in maintaining all protocols and scheduling criteria for clinical departments.
• Acts as a liaison between calling physicians and all Health clinical faculty, professionals and staff. Ensures that the calling physicians' needs are satisfied.
• Contact appropriate clinical staff to accurately address the medical needs of callers.
• With the aid of a computerized database and other resource materials, provides rapid and professional response to all physician inquiries and requests via the physician line.
• Operates the console of toll-free and toll telephone lines and associated telephone equipment.
• Locates appropriate physician/service for caller and facilitates the connection of the two. Pages physicians, if needed.
• Locates alternative "responder" if the primary one is not immediately available or finds an alternate way of satisfying the calling physician's need.
• Gathers and inputs demographic information on new physician callers.
• Updates physician records, rosters and schedules, as needed.
• Performs outbound teleservices functions for selected Health services.
• Registers general public and/or Health staff for classes (i.e. Childbirth Education, Diabetes Education, Discovery Series)
• Advise callers on basic information for international travel. Book travel appoints when appropriate.
• Answer e-mails that come in from the Health clinical website.
• Organize discharge summaries from JDH discharges and fax to referring community physician.
Experience:
• Previous medical office or call center experience required.
• Experience with telephone consoles, computers, public contact, and data collection is desired.
• EPIC experience highly preferred.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Details:
• Pay: $17 - $19/hr. based on related experience
• Pay cycle – weekly | medical, dental and vision benefits offered
• Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 4:30pm
• This is an onsite position and requires employees to work in-office 5 days per week.
