    Louisville, KY 40242 USA Description The Education and Labor Cabinet's mission is to educate, prepare and train Kentucky's current and futureworkforces. Our goal is to create and make continuous improvements to an education and workforce system thatprepares Kentuckians for the 21st century workforce, while helping businesses find the skilled workers theyneed to compete and create jobs in the Commonwealth.

    The Office of Vocational Rehabilitation empowers individuals with disabilities to maximize employment, achieveeconomic self-sufficiency and independence, and to contribute back to society. We also help businesses andemployers recruit, retain and accommodate employees with disabilities.

    We are seeking a Administrative Specialist III to provide professional support to the Independent LivingProgram in developing, implementing and maintaining complex programs, projects and activities in theIndependent Living program.

    Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete complex intake referral documentation for persons requesting services; complete vision and/orother relevant documentation requests; maintain electronic record of all documentation requests made andreceived including disposition of referral packet given to appropriate IL/OIB counselor.
  • Maintain and record program records for counselors and consumers in the electronic case managementsystem including entering referrals, initial case records, and revisions of case records into the Office ofVocational Rehabilitation case management system.
  • Participate in community programming, outreach opportunities, and McDowell center committees and eventswhich support community engagement and services to IL/OIB consumers.
  • Maintain scheduling & organize events atthe direction of the IL Program Manager.
  • Implement and execute required surveys and other data-gathering as necessary for completion of requiredprogram reports.
  • Provide front desk coverage including daily schedule breaks and vacation days when assigned.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • This position will have access to confidential and sensitive information. The successful candidate will berequired to ensure the safeguarding and security of all confidential and sensitive information and will berequired to complete trainings, sign acknowledgements, follow all policies and adhere to all statutes andrequirements pertaining to the safeguarding and security of confidential and sensitive information whileemployed and after employment ends.

    The Education and Labor Cabinet (ELC) participates in E-Verify and will provide the federal government withyour Form I-9 information to confirm that you are authorized to work in the United States. ELC will only useE-Verify once you have accepted a job offer and completed the Form I-9.

    EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Three years of professional, administrative, or business experience.
    Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Additional education will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.
    Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional administrative, business, research, and/or clerical experience will substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
