If you are ambitious, confident, and committed to performing various tasks in the upkeep of buildings, grounds, machinery, and equipment, this job is for you The Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) are searching for a Maintenance Repairman 2 to perform maintenance and repair duties in the building, mechanical, and electrical trades at the State Police Academy Complex in Hershey, as well as the Driver Training Center at Fort Indiantown Gap.

    DESCRIPTION OF WORK


    In this role, you will operate and maintain the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system to ensure that its components are functioning properly.

    This includes performing routine and preventative maintenance on the system by adjusting valves and controls, replacing parts in need of repair, and ensuring that the emergency generator, battery, charger, and control panel are checked and functioning properly.

    You will also repair plumbing equipment, maintain hot water systems, install restroom fixtures, open blocked drains, and repair leaks.

    You will perform electrical installation and repairs of wall and ceiling lighting fixtures, switches, ballasts, panels, and motor receptacles; perform carpentry duties such as repairing walls, partitions, doors, and door frames; and paint various surfaces including walls, concrete, fences, and ceilings.

    Work Schedule and Additional Information:

    • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
    • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
    • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable

    Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39, before taxes).

    REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY


    QUALIFICATIONS

    Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

    • Two years of experience as a Maintenance Repairman 1; or
    • Four years of experience in building and plant maintenance work, which has involved at least two of the building, electrical, or mechanical trades; or
    • Any equivalent combination of experience and training that affords the applicant with the Required Knowledges, Skills, and Abilities.

    Special Requirement:

    • This position requires possession of a valid Pennsylvania Class C Driver's License.

    Additional Requirements:

    • You must be able to perform essential job functions.
