Duties:


Under the direction of AOTO Division Chief, the incumbent will serve as a recognized IT Solution Provider/Senior Engineer with a strong background in problem solving skills.

As an Information Technology (IT) Specialist within AOTO, the incumbent will lead a team of contractual IT professionals and engineers in the User Technology Integration Division to oversee and review completed work of contractor personnel for effectiveness in meeting objectives, accuracy, compliance with Judiciary guidelines, and adherence to best practices.

The incumbent oversees engineering components of AOTO-led projects; and communicates complex technical requirements to non-technical personnel. Perform multiple and varying assignments under the direction as required.

Duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Functioning as an expert in providing solutions which support end-user technology services, including access management, integrated LAN management, and network operations. The solutions support a wide range of IT services, including access management, unified endpoint management, file, network, print, remote access, unified communication and collaboration, business continuity and disaster recovery, and other services in the IT service management catalog.
  • Deploying solutions through a systems development life cycle from project initiation, through requirements, design and development, testing, implementation and full deployment and support transition to operations teams, leveraging best practices from Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and Project Management Institute (PMI).
  • Driving innovation, modernization, and automation across the LAN infrastructure, including transitioning locally hosted IT services to a cloud hosted environment.
  • Defining roles and responsibilities for team members involved with projects. Overseeing all contractors pertinent to assigned project and tasks.
  • Identifying and interpreting customer requirements for solutions as well as new services. Acting as a liaison between the Engineering, Security and Operations teams to convert requirements into outcomes.
  • Providing Tier 2 and Tier 3 layers of enduser and system support, including problem reporting, resolution tracking and reporting.
  • Participating in the Information Technology Users' Group which provides a forum for addressing IT topics of interest to other AO departments.
  • Ensuring the delivery of servicerelated processes and implement improvement activities wherever necessary.
  • Automating processes using scripting languages.

  • All new AO employees will be required to complete an FBI fingerprintbased national criminal database and records check and pass a public trust suitability check.
  • All new AO employees are required to identify a financial institution for direct deposit of pay before appointment.
  • You will be required to serve a trial period if selected for a firsttime appointment to the Federal government, transferring from another Federal agency, or serving as a firsttime supervisor. Failure to successfully complete the trial period may result in termination of employment.
  • If appointed to a temporary position, management may have the discretion of converting the position to permanent depending upon funding and staffing allocation.

  • Applicants must have demonstrated experience as listed below. This requirement is according to the AO Classification, Compensation, and Recruitment Systems which include interpretive guidance and reference to the OPM Operating Manual for Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions.
