    Position to start August 2024.

    The School of Business & Technology is seeking a full-time faculty member to lead course instruction in its undergraduate Computer Science program. The faculty member will assist the Dean in overseeing the ongoing development and revision of courses and the overarching Computer Science curriculum to ensure these stay current with developing trends in the field and meet employer expectations. The faculty member will participate in student advising, student recruitment and retention efforts, ongoing professional development, university service, and engagement with campus and community partners. The faculty member may also teach courses in related degree programs such as Business Data Analytics and Data Science.

    Faculty members contribute to the effectiveness of the University by working collaboratively on instructional policy, curriculum development, and staff development. They are models of educated persons, exemplifying the virtues they seek to inspire in students, including curiosity, tolerance, honesty, fairness, and respect for diversity.

    This position is responsible to cultivate and maintain the institution's Catholic identity and its mission to empower graduates to transform society.     Work Performed:

    1. Pursue excellence in course development and instruction — including both online and face-to-face delivery methods.
    2. Participate in student recruitment and retention efforts.
    3. Assist with the ongoing assessment and improvement of courses and the curriculum.
    4. Participate in the development of strong campus and community partnerships.
    5. Assist in cultivating strong relationships with key external academic partners, including regional high schools, community colleges, and other relevant entities.
    6. Assist in cultivating strong relationships with regional employers and corporate partners.
    7. Contribute to a professional culture of collaboration, trust, and accountability by maintaining responsive, professional, and positive communication with faculty, staff, and students.
    8. Other duties, as assigned.

    Required Qualifications

    1. An earned Master's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field
    2. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    3. Evidence of strong collaboration skills
    4. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

    Preferred Qualifications

    1. A terminal degree in Computer Science or related field
    2. Evidence of excellence in teaching
    3. Expertise in software engineering and/or data engineering

    Benefits

    1. Position is a full-time 9-month contract.
    2. Benefits starting after first 30 days.
    3. Tuition waiver for employee, spouse and eligible dependents after one year of employment.
