- Ensure the implementation and administration of the Modine Quality System at the plant.
- Initiate and participate in quality planning for the products and processes of the plant.
- Plan and manage the training, utilization, and application of basic and advanced statistical methods.
- Plan, develop, and provide training to improve technical competency of quality personnel.
- Establish and manage a plant Supplier Quality Management process that parallels the corporate process.
- Establish, monitor, analyze, and report on the major quality indicators of the plant.
- Audit the plant quality systems, processes, and products. Initiate corrective action when required.
- Manage the use of metrology equipment, provide a calibration function, and evaluate Measurement Repeatability and Reproducibility.
- Facilitate plant-wide corrective and preventive action and problem resolution of customer complaints, field failures, and product returns to insure prompt and effective responses.
- Exercise authority to prevent shipment of non-conforming products.
- Supervise and utilize quality department personnel to:provide metrology supportparticipate and facilitate product and/or process improvement teamsconduct machine and process capability studiestrain employees in the use of metrology equipmentaudit manufacturing processes
- Manage, train, develop, and motivate the quality department employees in order to achieve the overall quality goals and objectives of the plant.
Required Education & Qualifications - 5+ years of experience in quality supervision, quality engineering, manufacturing, corporate administration, or engineering.
- Practical experience in quality system implementation and auditing, expert knowledge and understanding of ISO-9000, QS-9000, VDA6.1, and other world wide quality management systems, and experience in establishing and implementing strategic plans for quality policies and procedures.
- Must have solid project management and leadership skills.
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) certification desired.
- Bachelor's degree (Engineering, Business, or one of the physical sciences preferred)

Position DescriptionThe Quality Manager reports to the Plant Manager and is an integral part of the staff. The position has a functional reporting relationship to the Director of Corporate Quality for training, technical assistance, direction regarding Modine Quality System requirements, consultation, and resolution of issues pertaining to quality systems, and the quality of products and processes at the plant. The Manager has the authority for ensuring that quality system requirements are established, implemented, and maintained in accordance with corporate and customer quality requirements and reporting on the performance of the quality system to plant management for review.
Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop, implement and manage a prevention oriented plant quality system that meets or exceeds the requirements of the Modine Quality System defined by the Policy Manual and Standard/American Practices and applicable customer requirements. This responsibility includes the development and management of a plant Quality System Plan that documents the systems and controls that are applied to the products, manufacturing processes, and business processes of the plant.
