Overview:

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all necessary supplies are available for surgery services in the Main Operating Room and Ambulatory Surgery Center.

This role involves ordering supplies, maintaining inventory PAR levels, and managing supply inventory, including ordering, receiving, and inspecting.

The coordinator ensures supplies are ordered in the most cost-efficient manner and stays informed about trials and recalls of devices.


Working Conditions:

  • This position may require occasional lifting and moving of supplies.
  • The role involves working closely with the surgical team and other hospital departments to ensure seamless supply chain operations.

Minimum Qualifications/Work Experience:2+ years' experience in supply chain, including inventory control, distribution, and shipping and receiving.

  • Familiarity with third party shipping practices.
  • Previous experience in supply chain management, particularly in a healthcare setting, is highly preferred.
  • Good understanding of hospital accounting principles and practices.
  • Broad knowledge of inventory and logistic operations in a hospital.
  • Understanding and experience in expediting.
  • Efficiently manage time and stay organized, as timely supply delivery is crucial for the Operating Room.
  • Excellent communication skills are essential for effectively delivering information to key stakeholders, including staff and nurse leadership.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with inventory management systems and supply chain software.
  • Knowledge of medical supplies and equipment used in surgical settings is an asset.

Education/Licensure/Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate's Degree preferred.
