    The American Heart Association (AHA) is currently offering an exciting position for a Staff Accountant, General Ledger at our National Center office in Dallas, TX.

    Responsibilities

    • Support National Center and Regions by performing various general accounting duties for day-to-day operations, month-end, and year-end closing of accounting records.
    • Create and manage new work order and restricted work order requests for all entities.
    • Prepare weekly disbursement and new hire reports for review.
    • Conduct monthly reconciliations for assigned entities, including bank accounts, payroll expenses, and asset and liabilities accounts.
    • Assist in external audits and documentation of processes and procedures.
    • Upload Bi-Weekly payroll data into the accounting system and reconcile any upload errors.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance.
    • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience.
    • Familiarity with general ledger accounting practices, policies, and audit requirements.
    • Basic knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
    • Experience with automated accounting and finance systems.
    • Strong project planning and deadline management skills.
    • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
