About the roleAs the Business Development Manager for our Americas region which covers North, Central and South America, We are very open for this role to be based anywhere in North America, as long as you have good transport links as this role will involve travel on a regional and international basis.
Some states we've identified it would be preferential to be based we will post an advert per location to consider anyone from :Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, North or South Carolina, Pennsylvania, Georgia, Connecticut, Virginia and New York or New Jersey.
You will be responsible for creating, developing, and executing a business development strategy for this region.
In this role you will be driving growth for the Americas region by leading conversations on the business development agenda and through the realisation of all targets to maintain profitable and sustainable growth through new business success.
To be successful in this role you'll be drawing on your expert sales knowledge and leading market information in the Print Outsourced Management, Retail Shopper Marketing or Secondary Packaging space to ensure all potential new business avenues are explored and realised.
You will be largely focussing on developing opportunities that already exist, but just haven't been tapped into or realised yet so the opportunity to be a contributing driving force behind the growth of this region and individually see the rewards of this is significant.
Some of your Key responsibilities will be:
The key deliverables will be account playbooks which end (rather than start) when tender activity is completed, understanding and building relationships with the key decision makers at the client and profitable growth.
Understand deeply the allocated targeted Incubation Accounts operating environment and challenges, our differentiating opportunities.Develop the client playbook to win business with clients with whom TMS/DS Smith has little or no business- fitting to our capacities and capabilities.
Develop the Key account plans to grow business with clients with whom TMS/DS Smith currently trades.Work with the internal team across Commercial, Delivery, Innovation and design teams to deliver world class pitches of offers perfectly adapted to the clients needs.
Build relationships with regional Client services and Operations and their teams.Travel as required for meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
Co-ordination and tailoring of presentation material and pitch to clients.
Manage and co-ordinate the response to tenders.
Support the post business award period, working closely with the regional Operations function and regional client services to ensure business won fully on boarded.
Provide KPI reporting including sales forecasting to General Manager.Keep up to date with regional supply and demand issues, changing trends, economic indicators and competitors .
Be fully aware of the various TMS/DS Smith offers and category managers who support them.
About you
If you are someone with proven success in business development in either Print Managed services, focussing on Retail Marketing Materials e.g.
POP/POS/POSM displays or if you have some exposure to these but your experience leans more towards business development for Secondary packaging sales/services, then this would be a great fit for you.
We're looking for someone with a passion for business development, growth and focussing on hunting rather than farming because when accounts have transitioned, they will be transferred to our client services teams for implementation and delivery, so this is not an account management position.
You'll be someone with the ability to develop and nurture relationships with clients as well as internal stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of your goals.
To qualify for the role, some skills that would be essential:Working fluency in English.
A passion and proven expeirence in Business Development
Real world examples of where you have delivered sales targets within the POS/POP/Print or Retail Marketing Materials space or Secondary Packaging space.
