#JobsJob DescriptionManufacturing Engineer (Space) is responsible for performing activities relating to the development, implementation, and maintenance of manufacturing methods. Additionally, provides engineering support to the production floor ensuring a continual manufacturing process.

Designs, develops, troubleshoots and documents various mechanical and electro-mechanical processes and operations used in the manufacturing of electronic productsSupports the launch of new productsEvaluates new material and process techniques to determine economic and/or quality impact on company products, reviews inputs from suppliers, design engineering and manufacturingSupports analysis and sets expectations of suppliers of critical componentsAbility to learn product requirements with customer to ensure DFx and compatibility of processing methodsAbility to learn productivity and yield improvement roadmap for product lines through use of Lean and Six Sigma initiativesSupports ongoing reliability needsParticipates in manufacturing and production readiness reviewConceives and plans projects involving definition and selection of new approaches to the manufacturing processDetermines cause for rejected parts and their dispositionCompiles and evaluates test data to determine appropriate limits and variables for process or material specificationsReviews and analyzes discrepancy or yield information and recommends corrective actionSupports contractual specifications to determine job scope and requirements and takes necessary steps to implementSupports the team in cost studies and equipment recommendationsSupports the quote team in the preparation of cost estimates for new businessRequirements:Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum two years related experience in the Aerospace/Space technologyPossess an understanding of high-mix/low-volume manufacturingKnowledge of electronic manufacturing processes including SMT and circuit card assembly to support aerospace/space technologyHands on technical experience with SMT processes, soldering, and testing requirementsSupport the PCB Assembly Design for ManufacturabilityHands-on experience with electromechanical assembly processesExperience with document collection, hardware hierarchy and specification reviews with customersKnowledge of continuous flow manufacturing using Lean techniquesExposure to Lean tools/methods (Standard work, 5S, cells, TPM, 1 piece flow, Set Up reduction, Poka Yoke)Knowledge with work standards and visual manufacturing instructionsStrong interpersonal skills and team building skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office, advanced Microsoft Excel skills, and CAD tools experienceExcellent oral and written communication skillsInter, intra-department and external contact requiredPossess or have the ability to obtain a U.S.
