    Description
    The Director, Secondary Education Engagement is responsible for overseeing the engagement of secondary education students for Rowan College of South Jersey. Working to accomplish the goals of the College's strategic plan, the Director will collaborate with constituents from the College and secondary education systems to provide engaging opportunities for prospective RCSJ students. Strong knowledge of the secondary and post-secondary educational systems, and a commitment to the role of a comprehensive community college in providing open access to a diverse student population, is required.

    Travel will be required, as this position will work on both the Gloucester and Cumberland Campuses.Examples of Duties
  • Provides oversight of programming targeting secondary education students with the goal of offering educational experiences geared toward RCSJ programs of study, dual enrollment opportunities, and enrollment upon high school graduation.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing the Student Ambassador Programs at the College and within the secondary schools in southern New Jersey.
  • Establishes, organizes, and executes on-campus events with middle and high school partners.
  • Acts as the point of contact for Junior Achievement of New Jersey
  • Responsible for the organization of Dual Credit articulation agreements with partner high schools.
  • Responsible for developing and overseeing the RCSJ Prep Summer Bridge Program.
  • Establishes relationships with high school constituents, which include guidance counselors, administration, faculty, and parents, to promote the Division of College and Career Readiness.
  • Provides support to the Executive Director in developing the programmatic and partnership offerings of the Collegiate High School.
  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Director to encourage and support dual enrollment at RCSJ.
  • Works collaboratively with the Executive Director to encourage and support student enrollment at RCSJ post high school graduation.
  • Maintains knowledge of current articulation agreements between the college and various high schools, in addition to the programmatic and credit bearing offerings of the Center for College and Career Readiness.
  • Demonstrates the ability to promote the college's programmatic offerings and student services utilizing a wide variety of venues, including individual and group session, print/online resources and publications, social media, on-going correspondence, and follow-up geared specifically toward high school students.
  • Serves as a member of the enrollment services team and works collaboratively to accomplish the goals and objectives of the college's strategic enrollment plan.
  • Ensures the integrity and confidentiality of academic records, maintaining compliance with FERPA, and other college policies, state, and federal regulations.
  • Participates in a variety of institutional committee activities and develops an effective network of communications in support of departmental objectives.

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in counseling/advising, student personnel services, higher education, or a related area required.
  • 3-5 years' experience enrollment and/or recruiting students in secondary and higher education.
  • Experience with a Higher Education Software, Ellucian Banner or Colleague preferred.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with varied technologies utilized in Higher Education such as: Informer, Recruit, CRM software, event management software, Wufoo, and Zoom.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access required.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate RCSJ's programs in an articulate and effective manner to individual students and large groups.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule with varied hours to meet department and College needs
  • Ability to travel to multiple educational institutions, utilizing personal vehicle for travel
  • Possess the ability to work well and communicate effectively with prospective and current students, staff, faculty, administration, and colleagues and community partners in large and small settings.
  • Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff and a commitment to a student-centered environment.
