    Position Overview:

    Our client is seeking a highly skilled Heavy Civil Estimator to join their team in Pleasanton, California. As a key member of their estimating department, you will play a vital role in accurately assessing the costs and timelines for a variety of heavy civil construction projects. From roads and highways to bridges and utilities, you will leverage your expertise to ensure the successful planning and execution of each project.

    Responsibilities:

    • Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
    • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
    • Utilize industry-standard software and tools to perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
    • Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
    • Prepare detailed bid packages and proposals, including scope of work, pricing, and schedule considerations.
    • Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
    • 5+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, utilities, and infrastructure developments.
    • Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, or equivalent.
    • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
    • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
    • Effective communication and negotiation abilities, both verbal and written.
    • Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
