- Analyze project plans, specifications, and other documents to prepare accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and develop comprehensive estimates.
- Utilize industry-standard software and tools to perform quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and bid preparation.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure competitiveness and compliance with project requirements.
- Prepare detailed bid packages and proposals, including scope of work, pricing, and schedule considerations.
- Participate in pre-bid meetings, site visits, and negotiations with clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in estimating heavy civil construction projects, including roads, highways, bridges, utilities, and infrastructure developments.
- Proficiency in estimating software such as HCSS HeavyBid, Bid2Win, or equivalent.
- Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project requirements and specifications.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to accuracy and quality.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team environment.
