    Job Description

    Conceive and implement novel experimental approaches to answer scientific questions. Investigate, identify, develop, and optimize new methods and techniques. Contribute to project science in area of expertise. Develop productive collaborations and communications with other groups across science disciplines.

    • Highly autonomous in designing and performing experiments / tasks using various laboratory techniques, instrumentation, and software systems.
    • Highly autonomous in developing and implementing analytical control strategies and corresponding test procedures.
    • Reviews/verifies experiments ensuring scientific soundness and suitability for the intended use.
    • Formulates conclusions and determines appropriate next steps based on multidisciplinary data.
    • May author project related reports and/or regulatory documents.
    • May act as a SME/lead scientist on one or more projects and/or technical area.
    • May approve select project related documents, reports and/or memos.
    • Demonstrates proficiency across a wide range of relevant technologies.
    • Independently designs, authors, and implements laboratory investigations (LIRs) and other exception reports (ERs). Coordinates activities of other Event Owners and reviews report drafts to assure consistent language/approaches across the department.
    • Communicates and collaborates effectively internally and with cross- functional groups and departments.
    • Ensures safety and GxP requirements are met when performing tasks.
    • Ensures timely and GxP compliant delivery of high-quality precise data.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent education and typically 10 years of experience, Master's Degree or equivalent education and typically 8 years of experience, or PhD and 2 years of experience necessary.
    • Possess thorough theoretical and practical understanding of own scientific discipline.

    Required Skills:

    • Must have excellent communication (both verbal and writing) skills and be able to lead all Exception Report related activities (NCRs, LIRs, Issues, OOS/ Aberrant investigations etc.) within small molecule ARD and mentor and develop junior scientists across a range of different experience levels. Proven ability to negotiate with other stakeholders such as Quality Assurance and Subject Matter Experts to enable quick progress.
    • Thorough understanding of cGMP and regulatory requirements.
    • Practical knowledge of organic structure, functional groups, chemistry, and modern spectroscopic techniques as applied to small-molecule analysis.

    • The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range.
