Who we are?

We are 50Hertz - one of the four transmission system operators (TSOs) in Germany. Together with the Belgian electricity network operator Elia (Brussels), we form the internationally active Elia Group. At 50Hertz, over 1,800 people work to ensure that electricity flows reliably, with low losses and optimal control over long distances. As a TSO, we play a central role in society, technology and economics in implementing the energy transition. Our goal: By 2032, we want to integrate 100 percent renewable energies safely into the grid and system.
