Every day, our team achieves the impossible by tackling the toughest challenges our clients face.Visit to explore how we are ensuring the safety and security of people worldwide.ResponsibilitiesPeraton is seeking a motivated and ambitious Senior Collaboration Engineer to join our dynamic Network and Unified Communications Architecture team of network and UC engineers in Alexandria, VA. This team handles planning, design, configuration, deployment, and tier III troubleshooting support. Your years of experience and expertise will drive the team towards success. Since its establishment in 1984, Peraton has been the prime contractor for the network contract.We deliver secure voice, video, and fax communications to executive government leaders anytime, anywhere, in any situation for daily crisis management. We offer a secure, high-performance communication network worldwide, consisting of real-time interactive applications running over a dedicated IP backbone with secure services for both national and global executive-level communications.Peraton manages the O&M of the network infrastructure and its components. The team furnishes IT hardware and software to align with the contract's objectives, including performance-based C4IM services, product support, and O&M for both existing and newly installed systems.We provide integration for creating hardware and software solutions, as well as task support for delivering system, network, software, and security solutions.In this position, you will play a key role in enabling program success by leveraging new and existing unified communications designs. This role involves hands-on work encompassing planning, design, implementation, and deployment. You will be at the core of a team dedicated to providing top-notch secure voice and video capabilities to the customer. As a collaboration Subject Matter Expert (SME), you will offer technical guidance to ensure the ongoing and future success of the program. The Senior Collaboration Engineer's responsibilities include:Developing collaboration architecture designs, studies, and plans.Supporting design, test readiness, and operational readiness reviews.Offering voice and video collaboration recommendations to senior program managers.Developing, implementing, and managing voice and video collaboration processes, including design standards for compliance, relevance, and sustainability.Conducting capacity planning for collaboration services by auditing and analyzing the performance and availability of voice and video services.Proactively researching and assessing tools and technologies for the collaboration environment, while devising solutions to enhance performance and reduce total cost of ownership.Providing tier III support for troubleshooting voice and video infrastructure, supplementing the program's operations team.This role demands flexibility to provide occasional ASI/outages support after hours and on weekends.QualificationsRequired Qualifications:An Active/current TS/SCI clearance.Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or a similar technical field) with eight years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with six to eight years of experience; or PhD with three to five years of experience. Additional relevant years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.Minimum of ten years of progressively increasing experience leading to the architecture/design, development, and implementation of enterprise voice and video collaboration solutions.Cisco Collaboration Core Technologies (CLCOR) certificationAbility to architect, implement, and support video infrastructure solutions for conferencing, gateway transit, and mobile devicesComprehensive experience in implementing and troubleshooting voice and video collaboration systems like CUCM, UCS platform, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Telepresence Management System (TMS), legacy video conferencing hardware, Multi-controller Units, and Voice GatewaysDesired Qualifications:Valid/current CCNA, CCNP, and/or CCIE certificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering (or similar technical field) with 12-15 years of relevant experience; or Master's degree with 10-13 years of experience; or PhD with 10+ years of experience.Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and presentation skills (including the development of CONOPS and procedural documentation)Experience with voice and video performance management tools, security tools and appliances, layer two technologies, wireless communications, and firewall/gateway traversals preferredExperience working in a lab development environment performing test and development functionsSelf-driven and resourceful in achieving goals independently as well as in cooperation with othersAdaptability to changing requirements, schedules, and prioritiesAbility to communicate ideas effectively, make recommendations, and gather team consensus for progressPrevious experience supporting a Government and/or Department of Defense customerExperience with the application of DoD IAVAs, DISA STIGs, and NIST security controlsExperience with REDCOM Sigma and Slice voice conferencing systemsExperience with Variphy Cisco CDR Reporting and Call AnalyticsExperience with VQ Conference Manager and the Postman API platformSalary Range Estimates:The provided estimate indicates the typical salary range for this position, representing one aspect of Peraton's total compensation package for employees.Benefits:At Peraton, we offer benefits that strive to support you beyond the scope of your daily work.
