- Prepare medications by reviewing and interpreting physician orders and detecting therapeutic incompatibilities.
- Dispense medications by compounding, packaging, and labeling pharmaceuticals.
- Control medications by monitoring drug therapies; advising interventions when necessary.
- Complete pharmacy operational requirements by organizing and directing technicians' workflow; verifying their preparation and labeling of pharmaceuticals; verifying order entries, charges, and inspections.
- Provide pharmacological information by answering questions and requests of health care professionals and counseling patients on drug therapies.
- Develop and maintain relationships with patients, providing personalized customer service, and ensuring that patients understand their therapy regimen.
- Comply with state and federal drug laws as regulated by the state board of pharmacy, the drug enforcement administration, and the food and drug administration.
- Maintain records for controlled substances and remove outdated and damaged drugs from the pharmacy inventory.
- Supervise the work results of support personnel and maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Enhance professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, in-service meetings, and workshops.
- Monday Friday: 8:00am 4:30pm or 8:30am 5:00pm
- Home Infusion or inpatient hospital experience.
- Previous experience with a parenteral drug therapy admixture program and some clinical monitoring experience are preferred.
- MI Pharmacist license.
- Experience working with IV compounding required.
