- Develop materials and study the atomic structure of materials in order to Client new applications for their mechanical, electrical or chemical properties. Conduct or supervise tests on raw materials or finished products to ensure quality. Analyze product failure data and lab test results in order to determine causes of problems and develop solutions. Determine appropriate methods for fabricating and joining materials. Monitor material performance and evaluate material deterioration. Plan and implement operations for developing material and fabrication procedures that meet cost, product specification, and performance standards.
