    Description

    As the VP of Commercial Lending, you will play a crucial role in debt origination, deal structuring, and risk management for our company. Your responsibilities will involve originating a high-quality, diversified loan portfolio that generates attractive risk-adjusted returns while sustaining strong credit discipline and advancing positive long-term client relationships.

    Your background in non-bank, leveraged finance real estate lending will be imperative for this role. Success in this role will require a strong work ethic, a self-starter mentality, and the ability to work independently within a growing team.

    Requirements

    Preferred Qualifications:

    •Bachelor's degree or equivalent related experience (MBA or CFA preferred);

    •15+ years of experience in leveraged finance, preferably with a top-tier alternative lending platform. Direct Lending is required.

    •Experience creating and implementing loan parameters and criteria.

    •Experience advising C-level executives and Loan Committees;

    •Strong finance, analysis, and commercial lending experience, including debt structuring and execution and the ability to understand and negotiate credit terms;

    •Strong knowledge of credit risk and compliance;

    •All-round knowledge of commercial lending products and processes.

    •Authentic relationship building skills and extremely self-motivated and success driven; and

    •Expansive network of industry professionals within the commercial lending profession.

    •Strong background in deal structuring and credit agreement creation.

    •Experience with commercial loan workouts.

    •Ability to execute in flexible situations and take the lead without explicit instructions.

    •Actively pursue and deepen new and existing relationships internally and externally.

    •An in-depth understanding of the financial and investment markets,

    •Advanced financial modeling skills and proficiency in analyzing various capital structures.

    •Strong leadership skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.

    •Proficient in creating compelling and thoughtful presentation materials.

    •Possess Intellectual curiosity, creative problem-solving skills, and adaptability.

    Responsibilities:

    Loan Origination

    • Leverage your existing network and create new relationships to identify and secure new lending opportunities within the commercial real estate sector across the United States.
    • Conduct qualitative and quantitative asset-level credit analysis, synthesizing data and summarizing trends.
    • Organize due diligence materials and develop investment theses.
    • Oversee the creation of internal investment committee materials.
    • Collaborate with internal and external legal counsel on investment loan documentation.
    Customer Relationship Management
    • Nurture relationships with potential borrowers, understand their business objectives deeply and propose loan products that meet their financial needs.
    Market Analysis
    • Monitor real estate market trends and developments nationwide, particularly in the Private lending sectors, and suggest strategies for capitalizing on emerging opportunities.
    • Evaluate market cycles and responsively react to changing conditions.
    Credit Evaluation
    • Collaborate with the origination and credit team to evaluate and perform due diligence on potential lending opportunities. Provide necessary information for the credit team to analyze the borrower's creditworthiness.
    Team Collaboration and Management
    • Work closely with the underwriting, processing, and legal teams to ensure a smooth transaction process from origination to closing. Supervise and guide teammates who will assist with loan servicing.
    • Present complex loan transactions to Loan Committee in a clear and concise manner.
    Business Development
    • Participate in networking events, conferences, and industry meetings to represent SNL/SNCC Group, strengthening our brand visibility and generating leads nationwide.
    • Engage with other lenders to extend lending partnerships.
