    OUR Rescue (formerly Operation Underground Railroad) is a leader in the fight against human trafficking and child sexual exploitation worldwide.

    We are an international non-profit organization with operations in five regional offices around the world.

    OUR Rescue works collaboratively with law enforcement agencies worldwide to identify, arrest, and prosecute traffickers.

    We provide compassionate care for survivors, beginning with crisis relief and ending months or years later with case closure and empowerment as survivors take steps into their new lives.

    Finally, OUR seeks to educate and advocate for the public to join us in the fight against human trafficking and child sexual exploitation worldwide.

    Position Summary


    Vice President of Marketing and Communications is a newly created role that will serve as the functional leader of the Marketing & Communications team (MarComm), overseeing integrated planning, leading cross-functional teams to develop action plans, and elevating OUR brand presence through implementation of various campaigns.

    This strategic marketing executive will ensure that campaigns and marketing deliverables start with a clear purpose, objective, and intended audience.


    The overarching purpose of the MarComm team is to energize our audiences with stories of OUR Rescue that inspire them to act (donate, volunteer, education, awareness, etc).

    We have a new brand that requires a bigger spotlight both nationally and internationally, and this leader will serve as a symphony conductor to ensure timely deliverables and effective team collaboration between creative, marketing, and communication teams.

    The ideal candidate will be inspired by the entrepreneurial nature of the role and bring a strong marketing skill set across many levers including TV/video, print, radio, digital, website, email marketing, and podcasts to amplify our storytelling so that we can deliver remarkable marketing that drives impact.


    Reporting to the SVP, Organizational Strategy and Business Operations, this strategic role will serve as the leader of the MarComm Team.

    Reporting to this position will be Sr. Director of Communications, Sr.

    Director of Creative, and a Marketing Director, with opportunity to recommend future capacity investment (via external agencies or internal support) once needs are assessed.

    Key Responsibilities


    Provides marketing strategy leadership - Serves as the senior marketing leader on the MarComm team, responsible for the development, integration, and execution of a broad range of marketing planning and implementation activities to support the strategic direction and brand positioning of OUR Rescue.

    This position works in a strong functional matrix, working collaboratively with people across the organization.

    Demonstrates high emotional intelligence - Motivates, mentors, and builds a harmonious team with sound strategy and deep insights to bring forward the best creative ideas.

    Confidence to nurture a positive work culture where innovation and out-box-thinking are encouraged.

    Directs development of marketing campaigns and materials - Responsible for the development of campaigns including integrated planning, messaging, content and material development across multiple media platforms and formats including print, radio, broadcast, digital, video, website, email campaigns, events, etc.

    Ensures marketing strategies are fully integrated across all channels, developed leveraging all relevant touchpoints, delivered on time and on budget, measured and evaluated.

    Oversees the integrated development and implementation of marketing plans (both internal and external) from local to nationwide campaigns.

    Leads visual identity execution for OUR brand -Ensures execution of a consistent and compelling OUR visual identity across the entire organization.

    Collaborates with MarComm and OUR subject matter experts - Identifies internal and external marketing opportunities and solutions and executes appropriate strategies to support them.

    Translates business needs/objectives into creative brand strategies expressed through impactful creative content ensuring brand integrity, stakeholder feedback and approval as needed throughout the development process.

    Provides Audience Champion Leadership - Helps ensure OUR looks holistically at the journeys and experiences across critical audiences, including donors.

    Provides support to ensure regular audience journey mapping, insights gathering and opportunity mapping. Results/insights to be shared across the organization. Facilitates the gathering of audience insights from which to inspire creative ideas.

    Oversees Content Management leadership - Provides leadership and support to develop content that accelerates visibility and impact goals and promote collaboration with creatives to help polish ideas and encourage compelling output.

    Ensures creation of equitable and inclusive marketing campaigns and materials - Proven ability to guide the creation of marketing materials and campaigns that include and appeal to diverse audiences, ranging from mass audience inclusive campaigns to targeted campaigns that build from deep consumer insights.

    Qualifications


    OUR Rescue seeks an enthusiastic Vice President of Marketing and Communications who will not only provide strategic leadership but also execute in the trenches, from a market and donor perspective to the seamless coordination amongst MarComm teams.

    The successful candidate will be highly flexible and adaptive out-of-the-box thinker with sharp analytical and problem-solving skills able to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

    Skills

    While it's understood that no single candidate will bring every single competency, strong candidates will offer the following skills, characteristics, and experiences:

    Minimum of 15+ years leadership experience creating breakthrough marketing campaigns with proven in-market impact
    Agency, media, advertising and consumer brand experience strongly preferred.

    Demonstrate a superior knowledge and craft of all creative executional needs including traditional (TV), digital, social, direct, promotional, and experiential.

    Proven success at leading teams to develop/execute marketing strategies, activities, campaigns, etc. that drive impact.

    History of creative strategic thinking, entrepreneurial capabilities, and innovative leadership in developing and executing comprehensive marketing plans that engage and grow a variety of diverse audiences and advance the organization's strategic mission.

    Past success working within a matrixed environment strongly preferred.
    Prior experience with fundraising and working with donor audiences a plus.
    Strategic mindset - Able to translate business needs/objectives into impactful strategies and actionable plans.
    Personal commitment to DEI - possesses knowledge of and curiosity about own DEI journey and advanced understanding of issues related to DEI
    Creativity - Able to find innovative solutions within acceptable parameters; inspires team to create new thinking and ideas.

    Capable of up to 25% domestic and/or international travel

    Location

    OUR Rescue is headquartered in Murray, Utah with centers of excellence in Minnesota, Texas, and Florida.

    We strongly prefer a candidate to work in a hybrid capacity in or around Salt Lake City, UT, or those interested in relocating for this opportunity.

    Relocation assistance is available.

    Our team is offered a flexible hybrid schedule which allows them to work 3 days from the office and 2 days remotely.

    Alternatively, this role can be available as a fully remote role based in Minnesota.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience. The salary range for this role is $150,000-$200,000.

    OUR Rescue offers a generous benefits package, which includes 100% employer paid Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, AD&D and Long-Term Disability insurance; a PTO package with 3 weeks of PTO, 10 paid holidays, 4 wellness days plus an additional week off between Christmas and New Year's; and opt-in 401k with 6% match.
