- General oversight of all legal matters, both on external engagements and internal operations.
- Negotiate on behalf of the company
- Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts and agreements, such as purchase agreements, leases, operating agreements, construction contracts, affidavits, etc.
- Review outside counsel motions, pleadings and other court documents
- Advise on corporate governance and legal structures
- Conduct legal research and analysis on complex legal issues pertaining to commercial real estate, licensing laws, corporate governance and regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with internal teams, including finance, operations and management to ensure legal compliance
- Draft and file court reports on behalf of the receivership
- Assist in negotiating and resolving legal disputes
- Remain informed on changes in real estate and foreclosure laws and regulations relevant to the organization's operations
- Collaborate with outside counsel and internal team members to ensure consistent and effective oversight
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Office and Adobe
- Must be able to understand, analyze, and process data efficiently
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to comply with operational policies and procedures, codes, and regulations
- Exceptional organizational, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
- Strong relationship management, negotiation, conflict resolution and problem-solving skills
- Understanding of real estate and foreclosure process
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from accredited law school
- Admission to the Ohio State Bar
- 3+ years of directly related experience in real estate law, contract law, or foreclosure.
- Proficient in legal drafting and writing
