    Patient Care Assoc (Nrsg Coop

    Under the direction of a registered nurse (RN), the Patient Care Associate (PCA) assists the multi-disciplinary health care team in clinical support functions to promote a safe, compassionate patient care environment. PCA assists multi-disciplinary health care team by assisting patients with daily living needs, monitoring & reading vital signs, drawing blood, obtaining EKGs. Responds to patient requests in a timely manner, safeguarding patient confidentiality, monitoring patient safety, and always communicating in a respectful manner.

    Previous experience, preferably in an acute care setting.
    - Effective customer service orientation and the ability to interact with diverse groups of patients, staff and providers.
    - Demonstrated ability to solve basic patient and practice problems using a combination of strong interpersonal and communication skills, attention to detail and superior organizational skills.
    - Ability to lift and transport patients, using the appropriate physical technique, in a safe manner for the patient and self.
