POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for IOS practice. Develops and coordinates efficient department procedures that support the operations of orthopaedic department .
Overall responsibility for providing other administrative functions of the department.
Maintains effective verbal and written communications at multiple levels within internal and external customers.
Coordinates activities of practice.
Directs and guides staff and ensures appropriate utilization of human and capital resources.
Supervises staff and day-to-day practice operations.
Provides leadership with a strong focus on customer satisfaction.
Problem solving skills must be well developed.
Collaborates with providers to improve processes and resolve issues utilizing best practice/evidence based.
Ensures effective scheduling process.
Utilizes resources appropriately.
Varifies charge entry process and cash drawer/co-pay process.
Creates and manages orthopaedic NP/PA schedule effectively.
Tracks required licensure and CME requirements for the providers.
Oversees facilities to ensure clean, healthy, and customer focused appearance.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
High School graduate,
A.A.S. Degree in business, computers.
Preferred:
Secretarial Science preferred.
LICENSE:
PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATIONS:
WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum:
3 years experience in Medical Specialty Office operations (preferably orthopaedics), 3 years in a supervisory role.
Computer software experience in word processing and practice management software.
Preferred:
Microsoft Word, Medent, Meditech
SKILLS:
Minimum:
Knowledge of registration, insurance and worker's compensation processes.
Working knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT- codes.
Ability to create and manage a staffing schedule.
Demonstrates ability to prioritize workload, develop/maintain efficient office systems.
Strong verbal/written skills in communicating skills;
Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to multi-task.
Preferred:
Experience with computerized patient scheduling.
Medical terminology and electronic medical record for an orthoapedic practice.
