- Maintaining all ambulances in a state of response readiness and ensuring each ambulance complies with First Rescue Ambulance standards.
- Ensuring the cleanliness of the ambulance on a daily basis and verifying the supplies are in compliance according to various licensing agencies.
- Following the maintenance schedule for each ambulance by tracking mileage and vehicle hours
- Taking ambulances to various locations for maintenance and repair (we do not have onsite mechanics)
- Reviewing vehicle checklists completed by EMT's on a daily basis and correcting any issues noted on the checklist.
- Tracking damage of vehicles and reporting new damage to management
- Notifying management of any ambulances not in compliance with end of shift guidelines for EMS staff
- Assisting management with licensing of vehicles and driving vehicles to various licensing agencies for inspection
- Taking equipment to and from EMS scenes such as gurneys, stair chairs, oxygen, etc.
- performing light maintenance of ambulances such as changing light bulbs, tightening of screws
- Other tasks as assigned by management.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Maintain, on file, a current CA DMV Class C driver's license.
- Maintain acceptable driving record by company auto insurance standards.
- Computer skills
- Must have at least 2 years of driving experience and have reliable transportation to work.
- Clearance of a physical exam, drug screen, and background check.
