Description

We believe the office is a critical driver of innovation, connection and development, but also realize providing more flexibility to our employees is critical in this new world. Starting in January 2022, the majority of our salaried employees will be able to work virtually for up to two days each week to create a more agile and modern workplace. Some jobs may be required to be performed fully in person depending a roles responsibilities and requirements.
** Description & Requirements**
**Role**
The Buyer- Indirects - Sustainability & Utilities will be responsible for supporting strategic planning and sourcing activities for 10+ related subcategories (e.g. energy- utility management- uniforms- security- bulk gases- and supplier diversity) as part of a team with total spend of $250 Million across the Kraft Heinz NA enterprise and 450+ suppliers. This person will demonstrate their experience and knowledge to help develop and support comprehensive strategies at the category level and implement the strategy through the sourcing process. They will drive program compliance through Supplier and Contract Management creating value for Kraft Heinz. As well as support sustainable strategies that will actively seek to reduce and/or control costs for products and services while increasing efficiencies for the business. This position will work cross functionally with the team members in various Business Units- R&D- FSQ- Operations- and Corporate functions to support new products and services to meet business objectives. The successful candidate must be able to focus on balancing outstanding service to internal business clients- while improving value for the company of items/services purchased.

****Primary Responsibilities****
Handle clients and supplier relationships on an ongoing basis to ensure customer satisfaction
Support strategic sourcing projects for supplier selection/optimization to implement Category Management vision and strategies
Partner- lead- and implement short and long term sustainability strategies
Manage Supplier Relationships and conducts Supplier Business Reviews Partner concern Point for Performance and Risk Issues for categories managed (e.g. experience with largest Sustainability- Utilities- Services & Environmental industry leaders is a plus)
Assist in developing and managing supplier base for specific categories
Lead discussions with critical suppliers around long-term objectives and strategies- ongoing market trends- innovation and technology advances- and potential investment decisions
Support major supplier issues and work with collaborators to identify and drive resolutions
Identify business needs at the sourcing and category project level in the following areas: Assurance of Supply- Quality- Service- Cost- and Innovation (AQSCI)
Support the development of multi-year category vision and strategy based on the data- insights and business requirements
Build strong business relationships to increase influence over total category spend
Identify and evaluate potential value generating projects based on complexity- resources- risk- time to implement- and estimated financial impact
Handle prioritized portfolio of projects for the category in the near and long term
Lead the supplier selection and RFx award process for assigned bids
Implement contracts in accordance with policies and processes; ability to build competency across categories
Apply negotiation techniques and tools in all situations; ability to apply competency across categories
Actively maintain strong understanding of category dynamics (current market- pricing- cost drivers- industry and supplier variables) through trade groups- publications- etc. and communicates changes to business partners
Manage Total Cost of Ownership at the category level through collaboration with Data Analytics- accountable for measuring and reporting value delivery
Enable continuous process improvement and cost reduction
Ensure the strategic sourcing process is robustly applied to all sourcing projects
Is a positive challenger and influencer
Collaborates with global procurement peers to ensure support of and alignment to the supported functions

****Qualifications****
Bachelor's degree in Operations- Finance- Supply Chain or bountiful experience in procurement/buying.
Ability to effectively negotiate and influence business decisions and change
Strong written & verbal communication
Problem solving skills under time constraints
Comfortable working cross functionally
Strong financial competence and highly analytical
Food and beverage experience preferred
Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Shows moral courage- willingness and integrity in all dealings and transactions
2+ years of experience in Indirect Procurement or combination of direct Sustainability- Utilities- Services & Environmental industry experience
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite- Familiarity with eProcurement Source-to-Pay tools desirable (e.g. Ariba & Workday a plus)- Experience in Supplier Performance & Risk Management tools desirable
Experience in developing strategies is a plus. Specifically- researching possible direction based on insights into both external market indices- global supply chain and the organization's overall capabilities. Recognized as a quick learner and knowledgeable in respective field. Supports strategy that aligns function with organizational goals and generates results that will have a positive impact on the function/business unit. Must have experience in the sourcing life cycle process and the tools needed to complete the process.
