    Job Description

    This role, located in the Richardson, TX (DFW area), entails implementation, maintenance and support of production infrastructure and monitoring. The candidate should be familiar with Google Cloud Platform (GCP). This person would be responsible for handling production application and performance issues, as well as providing feedback on necessary scaling within the cloud. Familiarity with Kubernetes and Linux Administration is preferred. This role will utilize ServiceNow and Zenoss or Nagios for monitoring, experience with those tools is preferred but not required.

    Essential Functions

    • Manage and update the company's production infrastructure in GCP and private cloud
    • Manage, update and deploy applications in production infrastructure
    • Manage server and server updates
    • Manage GCP Kubernetes clusters
    • Manage and configure Docker containers
    • Perform server software installation, upgrades and maintenance
    • Deploy updated SSL certificates
    • Manage corporate monitoring infrastructure and software
    • Troubleshoot and fix production application
    • Implementation of the Business Continuity technology plans
    • Quarterly Access Control Audit
      • Review systems/online applications controlled by Operations to determine what users may need to be removed from the systems/applications.
    • Quarterly Disaster Recovery testing
      • Perform disaster recovery testing each quarter
    • Configure monitoring software (Zenoss)
      • Nagios experience a plus

    Competencies

    • Proficient in Linux server administration
    • Proficient with VMware infrastructure
    • Familiar with Kubernetes is a plus
    • Familiarity with Git repositories is a plus
    • Experience with scripting languages for automating repetitive tasks
    • Excellent verbal and written communications skills along with the ability to present technical data and approaches to both technical and non-technical audiences
    • Ability to work remotely and with remote teams
    • Build infrastructure and data flow documentation with Visio

    Work Environment This job operates in a professional office environment with moderate levels of noise. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

    Physical Demands

    • Must be able to read information from a computer screen
    • Must be able to sit or stand for periods up to 4 hours
    • Must be able to routinely and frequently lift and move objects up to 20 lbs. and occasionally lift and move objects up to 50 lbs.
    • Must be able to occasionally climb or balance foot stools/step ladders and occasionally bend/stoop or kneel to retrieve physical objects
    • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision to read manuals, computer screens and printed materials, depth perception and ability to adjust focus
    • Position may require domestic travel up to 15%

    • 2-year working in a cloud environment
