Description
The Metallurgical Engineer is responsible for all aspects of melting production and application. This position is a cross-functional position that involves interaction with quality, molding, melting and sales.The Metallurgical Engineer will interact with our customers to identify needs and will be responsible for metal integrity which may require failure analysis and reporting when appropriate.
Complete casting material certifications and send to customers when requiredPerform Metallurgical testing to support problem solving and product development
Studying the properties of various materials and finding means of improving their characteristics
Assist with product inspection, development of inspection criteria, and training employees on customer requirements for products
Participate in problem solving and continuous improvement efforts related to casting quality
Comply with policies, guidelines and regulatory requirements per the Quality System.
Supporting new foundry equipment installation and evaluation
Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training staff members, planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining staff members; and addressing complaints and resolving issues.
