    Description

    St. Anselm's Abbey School seeks a full-time teacher of History and Social Studies to start August 2024. Depending on qualifications and experience, candidates may also be considered for the role of Chair of the school's Social Studies Department.

    Description:
    The successful candidate's full-time teaching assignments will include, but not be limited to, two sections of AP World History and at least one History or Social Studies elective for 11 th and 12 th graders (to be determined by the candidate and Department Chair). Sections have an average of 18 students. In addition to teaching, responsibilities include moderating the Model UN club (which includes some weekend and out-of-town commitments), attending regular department and grade-team meetings, working with students in individual or small-group tutorials as needed, and communicating proactively with parents and administrators about student progress. Teachers may also be asked to take on additional duties, including serving as an advisor or study hall monitor.
