Job Description:
Classroom Teacher
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement a longterm academic plan with monthly, weekly, and daily goals and objectives aligned to developmentally appropriate curriculum and standards
- Develop and execute daily lesson plans, with focus on language and literacy, mathematical thinking, social studies, science, and social and emotional growth and development
- Create a classroom environment that supports students' academic and social/emotional growth and development
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians to facilitate parental involvement in the school program; meet with parents to apprise them of their children's progress
- Administer benchmark, common, and informal assessments to determine student growth and mastery of skills and concepts taught
- Analyze and utilize assessment data to inform instruction
- Complete student records and reports as required
- Work collaboratively with colleagues and the school administration to support instruction and school programs
- Participate in ongoing professional development
